(Elaine McMurray) is a contemporary, anti-traditional artist and designer based in Austin, Texas. In her painted works (oil and acrylic), she adds elements such as glitter and glass to manipulate light as it interacts with her work. By combining traditional media with these unorthodox materials, she explores and celebrates identity.
She also utilizes collage, texture, and found objects to create digital works that honor life’s small moments. Her digital artwork often serves as the inspiration for her graphic design work. Her design aesthetic creates clear and concise messages with a unique and artistic twist.
She received her BFA from the University of Texas at Austin. Her work has been exhibited at Soft Times Gallery in San Francisco, CA, Wavelength Space in Chattanooga, TN, and at Women & Their Work in Austin, TX. She also participated in the Oxbow School of Art and Artist Residency Program in Saugatuck, MI, as well as the NES Artist Residency Program in Skagaströnd, Iceland.
